Brunfelsia australis merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Solanaceae (suku terong-terongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Brazil selatan hingga Argentina timur laut. Nama ilmiah Brunfelsia australis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis George Bentham pada tahun 1846.
