Bulbostylis congolensis merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di kawasan tropis Afrika. Nama ilmiah Bulbostylis congolensis mulai dipublikasikan pada tahun 1927.
