Bulbostylis oritrephes subsp. australis merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Afrika Selatan. Nama ilmiah Bulbostylis oritrephes subsp. australis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Brian Lawrence Burtt pada tahun 1986.
