Byrsonima sericea merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Malpighiaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di kawasan tropis Amerika selatan. Nama ilmiah Byrsonima sericea pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Augustin Pyramus de Candolle pada tahun 1824.
