Calliandra chilensis merupakan tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering di wilayah Chili (Atacama, Coquimbo). Nama ilmiah Calliandra chilensis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis George Bentham pada tahun 1844.
