Callitriche terrestris merupakan tumbuhan semak dari famili Plantaginaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan tumbuh di air (hidrofit). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kanada tenggara, Amerika Serikat bagian utara-tengah dan timur, Meksiko, hingga kawasan tropis Amerika selatan. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan terrestrial water-starwort. Nama ilmiah Callitriche terrestris pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Constantine Samuel Rafinesque pada tahun 1808.
