Calystegia macrostegia subsp. arida merupakan tumbuhan semak dari famili Convolvulaceae (suku kangkung-kangkungan). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan tumbuh merambat. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering. Nama ilmiah Calystegia macrostegia subsp. arida pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Edward Lee Greene pada tahun 1965.
