Teh adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Theaceae. Tumbuhan yang dikenal dengan nama ilmiah Camellia sinensis ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Himalaya timur hingga China selatan dan Indo-China utara, Hainan. Nama ilmiah Camellia sinensis diperkenalkan oleh Carl Ernst Otto Kuntze pada tahun 1881.
