Cantinoa americana adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu kecil dari famili Lamiaceae (suku nilam-nilaman) yang memiliki siklus hidup semusim (annual). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di kawasan tropis dan subtropis Amerika . Di Indonesia tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan nama babalu bugis (Sulawesi) atau mossolan (NT). Nama ilmiah Cantinoa americana pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Jean Baptiste Christophore Fusée Aublet pada tahun 2012.
