Caperonia latior merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Paraguay. Nama ilmiah Caperonia latior diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Robert Hippolyte Chodat pada tahun 1912.
