Capsella mexicana merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Brassicaceae (suku sawi-sawian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Meksiko (Morelos). Nama ilmiah Capsella mexicana diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama William Botting Hemsley pada tahun 1879.
