Carduus leptocladus merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Afrika barat laut. Nama ilmiah Carduus leptocladus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Michel Charles Durieu de Maisonneuve pada tahun 1846.
