Carex agastachys merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Eropa hingga Iran utara. Nama ilmiah Carex agastachys diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Linnaeus the Younger pada tahun 1782.
