Carex arcta merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan northern cluster sedge. Nama ilmiah Carex arcta pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Francis Boott pada tahun 1867.
