Carex aureolensis merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang. Nama ilmiah Carex aureolensis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Ernst Gottlieb von Steudel pada tahun 1855.
