Carex brunnipes adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko tengah hingga Guatemala. Nama ilmiah Carex brunnipes diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Anton Albert Reznicek pada tahun 1986.
