Carex echinata subsp. phyllomanica merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Alaska selatan hingga California utara. Nama ilmiah Carex echinata subsp. phyllomanica pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis William Boott pada tahun 1980.
