Carex glaucescens merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Amerika Serikat bagian tenggara hingga Texas. Nama ilmiah Carex glaucescens pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Stephen Elliott pada tahun 1824.
