Carex monostachya merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk akar rimpang. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma pegunungan tropis. Nama ilmiah Carex monostachya pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Achille Richard pada tahun 1850.
