Carex phalaroides merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis. Nama ilmiah Carex phalaroides pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Sigismund Kunth pada tahun 1837.
