Carex praegracilis merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan clustered field sedge. Nama ilmiah Carex praegracilis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis William Boott pada tahun 1884.
