Carex tereticaulis merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Australia selatan dan tenggara. Nama ilmiah Carex tereticaulis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Ferdinand von Mueller pada tahun 1874.
