Carex tetrastachya merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan britton's sedge. Nama ilmiah Carex tetrastachya diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama George Heinrich Adolf Scheele pada tahun 1849.
