Carex tristachya merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang. Nama ilmiah Carex tristachya diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Peter Thunberg pada tahun 1784.
