Carex tumida merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis. Nama ilmiah Carex tumida diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Francis Boott pada tahun 1858.
