Carex umbrosa adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang. Nama ilmiah Carex umbrosa diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Nicolaus Thomas Host pada tahun 1801.
