Carex utriculata merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan northwest territory sedge. Nama ilmiah Carex utriculata diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Francis Boott pada tahun 1839.
