Carex vallicola merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan valley sedge. Nama ilmiah Carex vallicola diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Chester Dewey pada tahun 1861.
