Carex wahuensis merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan oahu sedge. Nama ilmiah Carex wahuensis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Anton von Meyer pada tahun 1831.
