Carthamus helenioides adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Maroko hingga Aljazair. Nama ilmiah Carthamus helenioides pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis René Louiche Desfontaines pada tahun 1799.
