Carthamus rhaponticoides merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari wilayah sepanjang Maroko hingga Aljazair. Nama ilmiah Carthamus rhaponticoides pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Auguste Pomel pada tahun 2003.
