Carya tomentosa merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Juglandaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Ontario selatan hingga Amerika Serikat bagian tengah dan timur. Nama ilmiah Carya tomentosa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Jean-Baptiste Lamarck pada tahun 1818.
