Castela tortuosa merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Simaroubaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Texas barat dan selatan hingga Meksiko. Nama ilmiah Castela tortuosa diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Frederik Michael Liebmann pada tahun 1853.
