Catopsis floribunda merupakan tumbuhan epifit dari famili Bromeliaceae (suku nanas-nanasan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan florida strap airplant. Nama ilmiah Catopsis floribunda pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Lyman Bradford Smith pada tahun 1937.
