Catopsis nutans merupakan tumbuhan epifit dari famili Bromeliaceae (suku nanas-nanasan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan nodding strap airplant. Nama ilmiah Catopsis nutans pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Olof Peter Swartz pada tahun 1864.
