Cecropia peltata merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Urticaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko hingga Brazil bagian utara, Jamaika hingga Barbados. Nama ilmiah Cecropia peltata diperkenalkan oleh Carolus Linnaeus pada tahun 1759.
