Celtis australis merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Cannabaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Mediterania hingga Iran utara. Nama ilmiah Celtis australis diperkenalkan oleh Carolus Linnaeus pada tahun 1753.
