Cenchrus distachyus adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko hingga Amerika tengah. Nama ilmiah Cenchrus distachyus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Eugène Pierre Nicolas Fournier pada tahun 2010.
