Cenchrus distichophyllus merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Kuba barat. Nama ilmiah Cenchrus distichophyllus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama August Heinrich Rudolf Grisebach pada tahun 1866.
