Cenchrus elymoides merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Australia utara. Nama ilmiah Cenchrus elymoides diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Ferdinand von Mueller pada tahun 1873.
