Cenchrus palmeri merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering di wilayah Meksiko barat laut. Nama ilmiah Cenchrus palmeri pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis George Vasey pada tahun 1889.
