Centaurea adscendens merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Eropa timur-tengah dan tenggara. Nama ilmiah Centaurea adscendens pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Friedrich Gottlieb Bartling pada tahun 1930.
