Centaurea chrysolepis merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Serbia timur hingga Bulgaria barat. Nama ilmiah Centaurea chrysolepis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Roberto de Visiani pada tahun 1860.
