Centaurea costae merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Spanyol timur laut. Nama ilmiah Centaurea costae pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Heinrich Moritz Willkomm pada tahun 1859.
