Centaurea cyanus adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan semusim dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Mediterania tengah dan timur. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan garden cornflower. Nama ilmiah Centaurea cyanus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carolus Linnaeus pada tahun 1753.
