Centaurea diffusa adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran) yang memiliki siklus hidup dua musim (biennial). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Eropa hingga Siberia barat daya dan Kaukasia. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan diffuse knapweed. Nama ilmiah Centaurea diffusa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Jean-Baptiste Lamarck pada tahun 1785.
