Cerastium brachypodum merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Caryophyllaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Amerika Utara hingga Guatemala. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan shortstalk chickweed. Nama ilmiah Cerastium brachypodum diperkenalkan oleh Georg Engelmann pada tahun 1894.
