Cercis occidentalis merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Oregon barat daya hingga California. Nama ilmiah Cercis occidentalis diperkenalkan oleh John Torrey pada tahun 1850.
