Cercis orbiculata merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Nevada hingga Arizona. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan california redbud. Nama ilmiah Cercis orbiculata diperkenalkan oleh Edward Lee Greene pada tahun 1912.
