Cestrum mariquitense merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Solanaceae (suku terong-terongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kosta Rika hingga kawasan tropis Amerika selatan. Nama ilmiah Cestrum mariquitense diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Sigismund Kunth pada tahun 1818.
